The NANOS Nominating Committee is now accepting nominations for the following Officer positions and one (1) At-Large Board seats.

Terms begin July 1, 2026.

President-Elect (2-year term)
Vice President (2-year term)
Treasurer (2-year term)
Secretary (2-year term)
Senior Vice President for Neuro-Ophthalmic Education (4-year term)
At-Large Board Member (3-year term)

• Eligibility: Fellows of NANOS with prior leadership on NANOS committees or task forces.
• Process: Self-nominations are welcome. No letters of support are required. Each suggestion will be carefully considered
• International Fellows: Not eligible for at-large Board roles but may serve in an advisory role. The NANOS President appoints one every two years.
• Details: See Articles IV and V of the NANOS Bylaws.

We are looking for leaders who can help guide NANOS as it grows. Ideal candidates should have:

• Knowledge: A strong understanding of NANOS’s mission, goals, and activities
• Commitment: A history of dedicating time and energy to support the Society
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead (e.g., serving as a NANOS Committee Chair) 
• Service: A consistent record of involvement in NANOS committees, taskforces, or projects

• The NANOS Board members are expected to dedicate at least 2-3 hours per week on the NANOS book of business; the NANOS Officers on average dedicate 3-4 hours per week. 
• The NANOS Board meets 3 times a year, two times in person (at the NANOS annual meeting and in conjunction with the AAO meeting) and one time virtually in the summer. The NANOS Officers have 2 additional virtual meetings that they are expected to attend. 
• The NANOS Officers are also expected to oversee their respective committees.
