Oct. 29: The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will hold “Drug Take Back” events around the country on Oct. 29. The DEA’s Take Back website has a “collection site locator” and other resources. For general information about safe drug storage and disposal, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has helpful information about where and how to dispose of unused medicines. The AMA strongly encourages physicians to talk to their patients about safe storage of prescription medicine and the importance of disposal of unused and unwanted prescriptions.
