What is your committee working on and how does it impact NANOS Members?
Every 4 years, the Strategic Planning Committee analyzes the prior NANOS strategic plan, and revamps it to create a new plan for the following 4 years. To do so, the members are queried about what concerns they have about our discipline and our organization. The Board is asked to review the plan and its goals, and the committee chairs review the tasks generated by each goal of the prior plan. Once a draft of the plan and its specific goals is available, the Board discusses it and modifies it, until a final plan has been approved. After that, specific tasks are developed to achieve each goal, and these tasks are assigned to committees. As part of this process, the Committee Structure of NANOS may be modified.
What are your committee's achievements?
The achievement is continuous monitoring of the appropriateness and currency of the organization's strategic plan as well as how the Committees are progressing to achieve their tasks. The required resources for this committee are a lot of staff and member time.
What resources should the membership be aware of?
NANOS is proud of and grateful for having so many engaged volunteers who are passionate about advancing our mission. All our volunteers are the blood vessels of our organization. All that NANOS does ties back to their ongoing efforts and hard work behind the scenes.
