As of July 11, 2022, the NOVEL Neuro-Ophthalmology Illustrated Curriculum has been adopted as the official subject matter curriculum to be used by AUPO FCC compliant neuro-ophthalmology fellowship programs. Since 2016, NANOS and Eccles Health Sciences Library of the University of Utah have partnered with Teton Data Systems to create neuro-ophthalmology products on TDS Health, an online curricular and reference platform.  NANOS’ Illustrated Curriculum was recently approved by the NANOS Board of Directors as the required curriculum for AUPO FCC neuro-ophthalmology fellowships.  Additionally, NANOS NOTE: Neuro-Ophthalmology Techniques of Examination for Non-Neuro-Ophthalmologists, was developed in 2021 and released in January 2022.

Licensing partners like TDS support NANOS’ efforts to disseminate scholarly information to practitioners and students.  The Illustrated Curriculum delivers textual and multimedia content to support diagnosing patients, applying complex concepts, and sourcing examples of conditions to readily share with patients, students, and colleagues.

An important element of the Illustrated Curriculum are regular content updates.  Updates ensure that relevant peer-reviewed research reaches users, so they can be applied as soon as possible.

The Illustrated Curriculum in TDS Health gives practitioners and healthcare students direct access to a wealth of content without having to wade through long lists or full-text articles to find applicable, evidence-based information needed to interpret and understand the depth of new situations.  The Illustrated Curriculum delivers more than 1,100 PDFs and 829 linked videos.  Supporting content includes tables, charts, illustrations, and graphs.  Videos and images link directly to related information in Walsh & Hoyt's Clinical Neuro-Ophthalmology 6th Ed.  Videos
