Drs. Laura Balcer and Steven Galetta

It’s always great to be recognized.  It’s even more exciting when the recognition arises from research spearheaded by neuro-ophthalmologists. That is precisely what 2 of our colleagues, Laura Balcer and Steve Galetta, have achieved.  They examined the role of vision tests in assessing individuals with possible sports-related concussion.  Published in the March 2015 issue of the JOURNAL OF NEURO-OPHTHALMOLGY, their findings are reported in:  “Adding Vision to Concussion Testing: A Prospective Study of Sideline Testing in Youth & Collegiate Athletes”.  This important research was picked up by a number of national news outlets including the New York Times and the Huffington Post.  Laura was interviewed by the NYC Fox News affiliate and can be viewed on the attached link below.  We congratulate Laura and Steve and their collaborators in the New York City area.  Their research highlights the role that neuro-ophthalmology can play in expanding medical knowledge in the field of public health.
