In this CME podcast series titled “Thyroid Eye Disease: Navigating Diagnosis and Treatment in the Real World,” expert faculty, led by Dr. Prem S. Subramanian and joined by Drs. Madhura A. Tamhankar and Marc Dinkin, address the pathogenesis and involvement of the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor in TED, summarize best practices for diagnosis and treatment, analyze real-world evidence for the safety and efficacy of current therapies, as well as examine case presentations on the diagnosis and treatment of TED to improve the overall care and management of patients with this disease. In a veritable tome of work, Cordano et al. conduct a series of mouse experiments coupled with proteomic analysis of patients with MS, making the argument that the inner plexiform layer by OCT is a biomarker for synaptic injury, and progressive disease in multiple sclerosis. This is yet another example of how studying neuronal domains that are anatomically segregated in the retina can yield insight into neurological disease pathology.Read More
