New York

Academic Neuro-Ophthalmologist

The Flaum Eye Institute (FEI) of the University Of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry has immediate availability for an academic Neuro-Ophthalmologist, at the Assistant Professor to Full Professor level commensurate with experience.  Both neurologists and ophthalmologists with sub-specialty training are encouraged to apply.   Salary is guaranteed for 3 years and includes generous benefits based upon professional experience and academic productivity.

FEI is one of the fastest growing Departments of Ophthalmology in the country, with 40 full-time faculty.  The departing faculty member has a busy practice.  Funded R01 grants are held by basic scientists studying neurodegeneration.  The clinical faculty is very involved in independent and collaborative research.  Many of these studies involve human subjects.  There is a full-time clinical trials division as well as a photographic reading center for multicenter trials.  Collaborations extend to the highly respected Center for Visual Science.

Rochester is located in Upstate New York in a city that has given birth to Kodak, Xerox, and B&L.  It is often called the “imaging capital of the world”.  Outstanding public and private schools, affordable housing, four season outdoor sports and many cultural opportunities characterize the living environment.
