NANOS 2005 MEETING
Welcome from the President
31st Annual North American
Neuro-Ophthalmology Society Meeting
February 12 - 17, 2005
Copper Mountain, CO
August 2004
Dear Colleague:
I hope you will join us at our 31st Annual
Meeting to be held at Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado, February
12 – 17,
2005. The enclosed flyer outlines the meeting schedule and provides
some basic information. More details can be found on our web
site at www.nanosweb.org.
Our meeting kicks off with an opening reception
for all members, non-members and guests on Saturday night,
February 12th. The
Annual Frank B. Walsh Session will follow on Sunday, February
13th. This year’s session is organized by Nicholas Volpe,
M.D. and his team from the University of Pennsylvania. Our guest
neuroradiologist will be Robert A. Zimmerman, M.D. and Lucy Rorke-Admas,
M.D. will join us as guest neuropathologist.
We are excited to include a Hot Topics Symposium
as one of our three morning symposia. As you would expect the
topics are still
being solidified. In addition to these programs your registration
fee includes a light breakfast and morning coffee break all five
days, heavy hors d’oeuvres during the Poster Session, hors
d’oeuvres and drinks at the opening reception and dinner
with wine at the Annual Banquet. All CME programs are included
in the registration fee, as well as your syllabus. Optional educational
programs have again been scheduled in the afternoons.
Registration rates have not increased and we are once again
offering the Sunday, one-day Walsh program fee for those who
will only be joining us for the day. Residents and others in
training programs along with Allied Health professionals are
eligible for reduced registration fees. Our plan is to keep fees
as low as possible to encourage the attendance of these up and
coming Neuro-Ophthalmology professionals. The registration form
will be available on the NANOS web site (www.nanosweb.org) in
early August.
Please note, the deadline for submitting NANOS abstracts is
Friday, October 15, 2004 and Monday, November 1, 2004 for the
Walsh abstracts. Late submissions will not be accepted. Submission
information can be found on the web site at www.nanosweb.org.
NANOS will again be sponsoring an award for the best paper by
a resident, student or fellow and a $600 Young Investigator Award
(YIA) for research by a Candidate Member or Active Member. The
YIA eligibility criteria and application forms are on the web
site. The deadline for submitting the YIA application is Monday,
December 13, 2004.
On behalf of the planning committees and the NANOS Board, I
welcome you to our 31st Annual NANOS Meeting.
Sincerely,
Larry Frohman, M.D.
President
