Do you know what antitrust legislation is and how it is relevant to neuro-ophthalmologists, NANOS and NANOS discussion email lists? Do you wonder why some topics of conversation are halted by moderators on NANOSNET? To help our US NANOS members avoid legal jeopardy related to anticompetitive actions, NANOS has put together an antitrust training webinar led by Vic Domen, an antitrust attorney. We encourage all US members to watch this training video (login required) and help us ensure NANOS stays compliant with federal laws.

WEBINAR DESCRIPTION: In this video presentation, Mr. Vic Domen defines the legal terms involved in antitrust issues in healthcare, as well as the specific actions that a NANOS member might unknowingly take that could result in legal jeopardy related to anticompetitive behavior. Anticompetitive practices include activities like price fixing, group boycotts, and exclusionary exclusive dealing contracts or trade association rules. Avoidance of this is critically necessary to maintain the health of NANOS as an organization.

SPEAKER BIO: Vic J. Domen, Jr., a government antitrust investigations and prosecutions lawyer, is a partner in the Washington, DC office. As a former enforcer himself, Vic has a unique perspective into the priorities of government agencies as well as the challenges clients may encounter. For nearly 20 years, Vic was the lead lawyer in the investigation and prosecution of federal and state antitrust matters brought on behalf of the State of Tennessee. In addition, Vic has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector. He has reviewed and investigated hundreds of nonprofit mergers, dissolutions and sales of assets with a special focus on hospital and healthcare transactions.

Thank you for taking the time to watch this important video presentation.
